You miss your loved one who is no longer with you. Speech writing can be daunting at the best of times, but when you are in the midst of grieving process, it can be extremely difficult to compose yourself enough to write a eulogy worthy of your loved one.
A good eulogy is less a personal statement of your feelings about the person than a way to draw the mourners present together to share in recalling and celebrating the life that has been lost. You are grieving and emotionally drained that you may have a difficult time preparing for this last homage. You won't be expected to express the thoughts and feelings of everyone present, nor to give a detailed account of the life of the deceased.
No matter how you incorporate funeral music into the service, it is an extremely personal decision. If you are still looking for funeral poems, I have written more on the subject which I hope you may find useful. Memories are bound to come up during your conversation with the aggrieved, and no matter how repetitive it might become, just try to be patient in listening.
Writing a eulogy for someone you knew well and probably loved can be a difficult thing to do. It is a tribute, do it justice.
