new york funeral

When I lost my mother there was no way on earth that I could have written a shopping list never mind poems for funeral tributes. It is considered a great honor to be asked to write a eulogy and while the whole purpose of an eulogy is to speak from the heart while commemorating the person who has passed away, there are a few things to remember to help you along with writing an eulogy.

An important step is to consider the finer points of the life history of the person. It will contain highlights, perhaps about the deceased's schooling and work careers, but definitely something about their families. You won't be expected to express the thoughts and feelings of everyone present, nor to give a detailed account of the life of the deceased.

In the event that you are asked to deliver a eulogy for a person, whom you don't know well, the first thing you should do is speak with friends and family members, if possible. If you start to break down, take a moment, compose yourself and continue with the speech. A funeral poem should about the person and their journey through life more than writing down your feelings.

It is a chance to help others begin the transition to a life after the person's passing. To be asked to deliver a memorial tribute is to be given the responsibility of assisting many.
