funeral home

Remembering someone special in a personal way can be healing for everyone concerned, for a eulogy is a deeply personal way of saying goodbye. They have a lot of positive effect because something which is beautifully written and sensible expressed can actually have a soothing effect on the bereaving.

It's a good idea to turn to your church for help. It may also cover areas where they made great achievements in their life. Collecting the information is also a good way to start as it will force you to write some things down.

This will help you not only to gather all the information to be included or mentioned in the eulogy, but also to enable you to decide early on the tone your writing will take. Keep the tone of the eulogy personal and use simple language so that the listeners can connect more directly to your words and the memories it conveys of the deceased. Look at your local bookstore for poetry books that have memorial or condolence poems included or search online for posted poetry.

As hard as it may seem right now, it gets better. Giving a eulogy is an honor.
