funeral director

It is considered a great honor to be asked to write a eulogy and while the whole purpose of an eulogy is to speak from the heart while commemorating the person who has passed away, there are a few things to remember to help you along with writing an eulogy. By celebrating the person s life, you are exposing your soul and your emotions to family members and strangers alike.

A good eulogy is less a personal statement of your feelings about the person than a way to draw the mourners present together to share in recalling and celebrating the life that has been lost. Some of the poems will make you and others around you cry because you can see them in each word or verse, this is also good as it helps with the grieving and healing process. Make sure you are happy with it before the reading, the last thing you want to do is decide that it's not that appropriate on the day.

Remember even if it is a sea of strangers in front of you, not one person will judge you for it. Poems can range in topics and styles, flowery or overly dramatic poetry is not the only option available. Do not try to embellish your story with half truths or lies.

Speak from the heart so that your sincerity will be reflected in your eulogy. If you are gifted with the blessing and talent of writing poetry for the dead, share it.
