As much as you love someone, recalling the details of their life at the time of their death is an overwhelming responsibility. It is considered a great honor to be asked to write a eulogy and while the whole purpose of an eulogy is to speak from the heart while commemorating the person who has passed away, there are a few things to remember to help you along with writing an eulogy.
Delegate as many trivial tasks as you can to others in order to give yourself ample time to finish the major planning. The speaker has to be careful how to represent the loved one and should be aware they have the responsibility of keeping it light hearted. Some people come up with serious speeches honoring the deceased person while others would rather show the humorous side of the deceased person.
One can also include the persons photograph along with the vocational and personal interests he was involved with when alive. If you are a family member you might want to talk about his childhood. We leave the dark and dim home of our mother's womb to discover a new home in a brighter, wider world.
Grief is not something we can simply set aside. Draft your eulogy then try to edit and polish your work.
